2. Bring your Diamond for verification:
Bring your diamond and its original GIA certificate to us. We will verify that the stone is in its original, undamaged condition.
3. Discover Your New Diamond:
Explore our collection to find a new diamond that reflects your current vision. Once you select a piece that meets the program requirements, your credit is applied instantly.
Program Details & Eligibility
To maintain the integrity of our collection and ensure fairness for all clients, the program adheres to the following clear guidelines.
What is Eligible:
- Natural, GIA-certified diamonds purchased directly from M&B Private Jewelers.
- Certified natural gemstones (Sapphires, Rubies, Emeralds, Spinels, and Aquamarines) from our inventory.
Upgrade Requirements
- Value Increase: The new diamond or gemstone must be at least 60% greater in value than the original item. This ensures you are making a meaningful step up in size, quality, or rarity.
- Condition: The original item must be returned in undamaged condition with its original laboratory report.
Transparency on Costs:
- Settings & Melee: The 100% credit applies strictly to the center diamond or gemstone. We can often reuse your setting or offer a credit for the gold value.
- Restocking Fee: To ensure the quality of every diamond for its next owner, a transparent fee is applied to cover GIA re-certification and secure logistics. This guarantees that every stone in our inventory remains certified and pristine.
Excluded Items:
- Special orders of diamonds or gemstones that do not meet our quality control standards.
- Non-certified gemstones.
- Lab-grown diamonds.
- Settings and melee diamonds on the setting (not included in the trade-in value).
Requirements for the Upgrade:
- The original GIA certificate or gemstone certification must be returned with your stone. If lost, an extra fee will apply for replacement.
- The credit applies exclusively to the certified diamond or gemstone’s value—not to settings or smaller melee diamonds. You may keep your original setting, or we can sell the gold and deduct its value from the cost of creating a new setting.
- Smaller melee diamonds can be incorporated into your new design if suitable or returned to you for future use.
Restock and Processing Fee:
A restocking fee covers costs related to sending the diamond or gemstone for re-certification and verification, shipping, and administrative expenses. This will be transparently calculated and explained at the time of upgrade.
Multiple Upgrades:
You may upgrade as many times as you wish, provided each upgrade meets the policy requirements.
